Pillow Pal

If you’ve ever watched How I Met Your Mother, you’ve seen Lily with Marshpillow, a pillow she created that wears her husband’s clothes. Whenever they’re apart, she’ll sleep with it and have romantic dinners with it. What’s stopping you from doing the same? Grab a pillow, and dress it up like Jon Hamm. You can even spritz some cologne on it, or draw on a face. Don’t knock it ‘till you try it. It’s one of the best ways to deal with your loneliness.

2

Build a Robot

How hard can it be, really? You know everything about electronics. You grew up using them, and you always have a phone or keyboard beneath your fingers. All you have to do is find a few pieces of metal, and create your new best friend. It’ll take an hour, tops.

3

Move Away

If you think you’re lonely now, you’ll be even lonelier once you move to a country where you don’t speak the language. You’ll have difficulty communicating, and things will be worse than ever. Once you can’t take it anymore, move back to your original home. Now that you know what true loneliness feels like, you’ll never feel isolated again. It might cost you a few thousand dollars, but won’t your newfound knowledge be worth it?

4

Chocolate

Step one: buy as much chocolate as your shopping cart can fit. Step two: eat as much chocolate as your stomach can fit. It’s a scientific fact that chocolate makes you smile more than any man can. If you get upset after reading a romance novel, fill your craving with a Hershey’s kiss. It’s better than the real thing.

5

Sleep

While you’re asleep, you have all of your dream friends to keep you company. They may not be real, but while you’re slumbering, it feels like they are. Why ruin a good thing with the truth? Go to sleep, and enjoy your gang of friends. They won’t be there when you wake up, but you’ll see them again tomorrow night.

Famous Quotes

To give oneself earnestly to the duties due to men, and, while respecting spiritual beings, to keep aloof from them, may be called wisdom.

Get Married

Find a stranger on the street, introduce yourself, and propose. There are plenty of places that will make your union legal without asking too many questions. Everyone knows that you don’t have to be in love to get married, so you might as well do it now rather than later. You can’t be lonely when you’re in a relationship, right?

7

Tea Party

Hey, it worked when you were a kid. Gathering around all of your stuffed animals, and having a tea party with them will get rid of your loneliness instantly. You want to feel young again, don't you? This is the perfect way to do so.

Everyone has moments where they feel alone, but you should know that that's never the case. You have friends, family, and the AWS staff that care deeply about you! When you're lonely, what do you usually do?

@neeceybresford Oh sorry your right I never noticed this is listed under joke. I hope no young and impressionable minds get the wrong end of the stick though. If I see a confused and broke looking young newlywed tourist wondering around London with a pillow with Harry styles face taped to it tucked under their arm, a whiff of Britney's curious and a face full of chocolate I'll be sure to inform them that it was listed under joke and they should probably stop eating their feeling and head to the airport. I'm sure their robot friend is beside themselves with worry

Wow, eat loads of chocolate to cute loneliness. Or better still, spend all your savings to leave the country. What a realistic and healthy way to cute a problem. Loneliness is an issue that a lot of people face, this post is not helpful! Take a break, have a long hard think and come back to writing when you have something insightful and positive to share.

Get serious duh

This has got to be the worst advice I have read on this site. I would advice you channel lonely time in to something productive like instead of dwelling on feel bad because your friend/family are busy why not throw yourself in to a creative project? I think we all have things we want to do or try but feel like our day to day is to busy with work or study that we never get round to it. Work on improving yourself and indulging in the interest you might not share with many people or get out in the world and absorb your surroundings? You might even meet new people while your at it, a tea party with a stuffed bear with a friend face taped to it is just going to make you feel crazy and inhibit your person skills. Grasp your loneliness and turn it in to a tool to help you grow! Some of the best mind was lonely minds that now inspire the world! That could be you! Don't be afraid to be you, be alone at time and enjoy it! Xx
