1. Messy Meals

The date's going well until you find out that your dishes are peppered with garlic and onions. While they taste delicious, you'll regret eating them once you're ready to make-out, and your breath is unbearable. The same goes for having a dinner covered in sauce, because if you're not very graceful, it will end up all over your nice dress, and is one of the things that will ruin a date.

2. An Exiled Ex

You're enjoying your meal when your ex walks straight into the restaurant. Of course, he sees you, and comes over to talk to you. Even if the conversation lasts a total of thirty seconds, you won't be able to stop thinking about your run in with him, and neither will your date.

3. Impolite Lateness

There's nothing wrong with being a few minutes late, because you didn't account for traffic. It's a little different however, when you're leaving a guy sitting alone for three hours while you're still getting ready to step out the door. Lateness is rude, so try your hardest to arrive at your location on time.

4. Obsessive Cell Phone Use

Is he paying more attention to his cell phone than to the beautiful woman sitting across from him? Then he really needs to reorganize his priorities. If a guy is pretending to listen to you while he's typing on his phone, then get up and go. Unless there's some sort of emergency occurring, you should be the only thing on his mind. And it works in reverse too!

5. Sour Self Views

Your date might be doing everything right, but it's making you second guess yourself. Did you choose the right color dress? Did he notice that you just dropped a piece of lettuce on your lap? Overthinking every move you make can ruin a date, so just trust yourself.

6. Awful Appearances

You don't have to dress like you're ready to meet the Queen or clean the dust off of every inch of your house. But if you're having someone come over, you should make it look like you care about your appearance at least a little. Make sure you shower and throw any dirty clothes beneath your bed. It'll make everything that follows way more romantic than it would be with empty wrappers scattered around you.

7. Continuous Complaints

At any given time, most of us have a list of complaints in our heads. However, you shouldn't spend the entire date complaining about the temperature and the taste of the food and the way the waiter looked at you. You'll have a much better time if you focus on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives.

If a date is ruined by one of these things, it doesn't mean that you're not meant to be in a relationship with your date. You shouldn't let one bad day determine your entire future. What's the worst thing that someone has done to you on a date?
