7 Hysterical Quotes for Grammar Nazis ...

By Holly

If you can't stand receiving texts that contain the wrong version of "than," then you'll love hearing quotes for grammar nazis. There's nothing wrong with wanting your friends and family members to be as educated as you are. They may get annoyed at your constant corrections, but if they'd just learn to listen, then you wouldn't have to keep teaching them the difference between "you're" and "your." If you cringe whenever you see an obvious mistake, here are some quotes for grammar nazis you'll understand:

Table of contents:

  1. You be the judge
  2. Use them all up
  3. Heroic commas
  4. You better know it
  5. Acceptable errors
  6. All we ask
  7. The road to love

1 You Be the Judge

We all know we shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but it's perfectly acceptable to judge a book by the words within it. It's the same for people. Don't judge them by their hair color or brand of shoes. Judge them by their inability to complete a sentence without slang. This is one of the quotes for grammar nazis you'll understand if you are one.

2 Use Them All up

You should never forget how important it is to use correct grammar. Don't save it for when you're emailing your professor or sending a letter to your grandfather. You should also use it when you're texting, because if you don't, you'll get used to making mistakes. Do the right thing, and don't let yourself slack.

3 Heroic Commas

A sentence can mean something totally different when you add a comma. They may be small marks of punctuation, but they can have a huge impact. Make sure that you aren't conveying the wrong message with your improper use of commas. You wouldn't want to put your grandmother's life in danger, now would you?

4 You Better Know It

If you don't get the joke, you have some studying to do. You don't want the world to assume you're unintelligent due to the way you write. All you have to do is learn a few basic words and you'll be set for life. As long as you know how to use the different versions of "your," "there," and "it's," you should be fine.

5 Acceptable Errors

Everybody makes mistakes, but only some of them are acceptable. If their finger slipped on the keyboard and accidentally typed one thing instead of another, that's fine. But if they keep repeating the same mistakes, and there's no way their keyboard is the culprit, you know it's all their fault.

6 All We Ask

It's not that hard to soothe a grammar nazi. All you have to do is use your words correctly. That's all we ask. It's not an unreasonable request, so we expect it to be obeyed.

7 The Road to Love

Intelligence is attractive. If you text the boy you've been crushing on, and he uses "your" incorrectly, you're not going to end up in a relationship. You need a man who is able to speak properly, so keep searching for your knight in shining armor who uses "whom" when he is supposed to do so.

There's nothing wrong with wanting those around you to use proper grammar. Just don't treat them like they're less valuable than you are, because you know the difference between a few words. Are you the person who is always correcting your friend's grammar, or are you the person who hates when someone tries to correct you?
